Check in with Lynn King promptly at 6:00 a.m. at the Volunteer/Packet pick up tent near the boat ramp to get your lanyard, pin, safety vest and verify your assignment.

Please wear your orange LRC Volunteer shirt. If you don't already have an orange volunteer shirt, we will provide one for you at check in.  You can pair this with running/walking pants/shorts and comfortable shoes.

Once you've received your instructions and safety vest you can drive or walk to your street assignment.

Safety vests can be left on the cone/barricade at your street or brought back to the post-race celebration in the Lake Hollingsworth Parking Lot.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You are helping with closing and reopening the course, assisting drivers with detours, and cheering for our participants.

These instructions may seem long, there are lots of details that go into planning a race. We want to share this information so that your volunteer experience is stress-free.

The race starts at 7:00 AM, and per our agreement with the city, we can close the inside lake of Lake Hollingsworth Dr., from Cleveland Heights to Success from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM. and both lanes of Lake Hollingsworth Dr. from Nevada to Cleveland Heights from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. This makes sure all cars have cleared the road before the race starts.

There will be a reflective cone with a Road Closed sign placed on the corner of your assigned street for you to place in the middle of the lane headed to the lake at 6:45 AM.

We will have a sweeper, but seeing the sweeper and their balloons are not a signal that you can leave your post. The length of Lake Hollingsworth Dr should be clear of runners before reopening. We are requesting that the officer closing Lake Hollingsworth Dr pass back by you once they have reopened it so you know it is safe to allow cars to turn onto LH Dr.

Once it is safe to reopen the streets, you'll place the cone and sign onto the corner of the street for our clean-up crew to pick up. Please do not block sidewalks or driveways.  It would be a great help if you could walk across Lake Hollingsworth Drive and stack the cones there in groups of 3 for the tear down crew to pick up.
